Thyssenkrupp Materials Services is investing around seventy million euros in modernisation and expansion of its logistics network. A large part that amount will go to a new logistics site in Lower Saxony, Germany.

The materials supplier, part of the Thyssenkrupp Group, is betting on Germany, Poland and Hungary in the coming years. It is investing more than 60 million euros in a 36,000-square-metre logistics centre in Lower Saxony. This site will accommodate 20,000 tonnes of stock, ensuring maximum availability of materials. Completion is scheduled for 2021.

Poland and Hungary

A further 11 million euros will go towards expansion of the site in Nowe Marzy, Poland, and a new warehouse in Budapest. The warehouse in Nowe Marzy will have storage space of 13,500 square metres and will serve to complement the hub in northern Poland. The new site in Budapest will cover 6,500 square metres.

Growth

"Expansion and modernisation of capacities are important components of our growth," said Klaus Keysberg, chief executive officer of thyssenkrupp Materials Services. "Innovative logistics, automation and digitalisation help improve our performance and productivity. This means we can respond even better to our customers' individual needs, while allowing them to focus on their core business."
