XPO Logistics is equipping its European logistics sites with smart LED lighting. By doing so, the logistics provider expects to save 2,200 tonnes of CO2 annually.
Before the end of 2020, XPO Logistics plans to install LED lighting at 75 per cent of its European sites. This involves a total area of more than 53.8 million square metres.
The smart system turns on when sensors detect movement. The lighting mimics daylight to create the optimal working environment. Malcolm Wilson, CEO of XPO Logistics Europe: "By investing in eco-friendly solutions, we support greener supply chains for our customers and safe, comfortable workplaces for our employees."
