Fulfilment Solutions is setting all sails ahead of the festive season. The e-commerce specialist has increased the capacity of its Autostore order picking system, purchased a new packaging machine and expanded its workforce.
Fulfilment Solutions (FS) has been working with Royal Reesink's Autostore order picking system since 2014). However, the current capacity of the order picking machine was not enough to handle the rush during peak times, FS writes in a press release. The e-fulfilment company therefore expanded the Autostore with an additional gate and 50 per cent more robots.
Besides expanding its order picking system, FS decided to purchase a packaging machine, which was commissioned today. The machine, named 'e-Jivaro' comes from the Savoie brand and can process up to 900 parcels per hour.
Steven Kersbergen, managing director of FS: "The chosen packaging machine chooses the most suitable box based on the product, cuts it to the right size and sticks the address label on it. Then all we have to do is offer it to the right shipping party." According to Kersbergen, this type was chosen because the e-Jivaro can also handle letterbox packages.
