SupperBuddy, which delivered groceries to customers' homes within two hours, is bankrupt. When it was founded in 2015, the startup still had biggest plans: sixty Dutch cities and then across the border.

At a delivery rate of five to 15 euros, SupperBuddy delivered groceries to customers' homes within two hours. Consumers could fill their shopping basket online, a SupperBuddy courier then made the physical round along the shelves and delivered the groceries at home. The Zwolle-based startup delivered in its own city for Albert Heijn and Jumbo, among others. Pilots in Utrecht and Rotterdam were discontinued after a year.

In the AD, co-owner Laurens van Geffen explains the bankruptcy: "Our model was to establish partnerships with existing retailers, but a number of deals did not go through and that led to us not having new funding." At the time of the bankruptcy, 30 people worked for SupperBuddy.
