Coolblue is accelerating the expansion of its bicycle network to five additional cities in the Netherlands. The cardboard box is also giving way to a paper bag so that more orders can fit in a packing bike.
Due to the current rush, Coolblue is accelerating the expansion of its bicycle delivery service to five additional cities. In a few weeks, CoolblueFietst will launch in Apeldoorn, Dordrecht, Amersfoort, Leiden and Breda. The counter for CoolblueFietst will reach 17 Dutch and Belgian cities by then.
The standard shipping box will be exchanged for a paper bag when orders are delivered by bike. According to Coolblue, this saves a lot of cardboard and provides 15 per cent more space in a packing bike. "Because of this extension and because of our paper bag, we can deliver many more orders by bike," said Coolblue boss Pieter Zwart.
