Logistics service provider CB is linking its new tote warehouse to the existing distribution centre in Culemborg. A so-called 'highway' will connect the new warehouse to the existing facilities.
To this end, it has signed a contract with automation provider TBWB, writes Warehouse Totaal. CB is having a new 33-metre-high warehouse built in Culemborg. The building will be equipped with a shuttle system, equipped with 150,000 totes and shuttle robots capable of handling 2,000 totes per hour. The maximum storage capacity can eventually be expanded to 300,000 totes.
TBWB's highway links the new warehouse to the installations at the existing site. In addition, the link ensures that both the stock and order bin flows, which were previously separate, are now combined.
Both the new tote warehouse and the highway will be ready in March 2021. By then, the logistics provider will also celebrate its 150th anniversary.
