Bouwmaterialen Nederland (BMN) has started digitising and optimising all its inbound logistics processes. Software supplier Zetes handles the digitisation process in its seven distribution centres.
BMN wants more insight into the inventories of its distribution centres and the warehouses and shops of 81 shops. To do so, it implements ZetesMedea. This warehouse software helps employees to manage and control logistic movements of goods more efficiently. This gives BMN more insight into its stocks and the items being transported to shops or directly to the end customer.
No goods on hold
Specifically, all incoming goods at BMN will be provided with a QR or barcode. The materials are scanned with new hand terminals linked to Zetes' software programme. The software immediately indicates stock location of incoming products. This prevents BMN from keeping goods on 'hold'.
Accelerated expansion
Zetes and BMN started a pilot in one of its branches a few months ago - at the beginning of the first corona wave. After five weeks, they decided to accelerate the expansion of the system to all branches.
