Retail chain JYSK will supply the northwest European market from Lelystad. The Danish company has secured a plot on the industrial estate Flevokust Haven.

The distribution centre in Lelystad will be JYSK's tenth logistics location worldwide. The retail chain sells interior products, both online and offline, and has shops in more than 50 countries.

From Flevokust Haven, JYSK expects to ship around 8,000 containers annually to the northwest European market. The Netherlands will also be served from Lelystad.

The retailer says it chose Lelystad because of its proximity to the port, its infrastructure and the availability of a suitably sized plot. JYSK also expects to find enough qualified employees there. The building yet to be built should create around four hundred jobs.

JYSK plans to occupy the distribution centre by mid-2024 at the latest.
