project44 introduces the Emissions Monitoring tool. The new solution offers shippers, forwarders and logistics service providers insight into their Scope 3 emissions. These insights are essential for better sustainability decision-making. The Emissions Monitoring tool provides users with accurate, GLEC-accredited emissions calculations for shipments on all modes of transport. This allows companies to effectively track and manage theircarbon footprint.
The new sustainability solution is available on the Movement by project44 platform. The option for customised reports makes it easier for users to comply with environmental regulations. In addition, the tool provides accurate historical emissions data in terms of transport mode, shipment, carrier and route. These insights help users reduce their environmental footprint. In addition, users are able to increase customer satisfaction by measuring positive results in ESG reports and delivering on their sustainability promises.
Tailor-made reports
The Emissions Monitoring tool allows users to:
- View detailed emissions calculations for each shipment, regardless of the means of transport (road, rail, sea, air). This can be done via the system itself or via a programming interface (API).
- Get detailed overview of emissions for each stage of a combined shipment (multimodal).
- Create and share customised reports with key sustainability data such as total emissions, emission factor and distance travelled.
- Use an overview dashboard to track trends in emissions over a given period. This dashboard makes it possible to dive deeper into the data, e.g. by means of transport, carrier and region.
"We find that our customers are under increasing pressure to work more sustainably, while they don't always have the right tools to reducecarbon emissions in their supply chain," said Jett McCandless, founder and CEO of project44. "Since our inception, we have been committed to more sustainable supply chains. In 2022, we led the industry when we became the first and only platform for supply chain visibility to sign The Climate Pledge. The Emissions Monitoring solution ushers in a new era for a sustainable supply chain. The solution provides accurate measurements of emissions for all modes of transport, enabling our customers to comply with regulations and achieve their sustainability goals."
More than half as many
Shannon Hunter, vice president of sustainability at VEYER says: "Sustainability is indispensable for VEYER to be successful. We aim to have 30 per cent of our warehouses waste-free by 2025 and to reduce ourCO2 emissions(Scope 3) by more than half by 2030. Thanks to our long-standing cooperation with project44, we can fully focus on this. It is important for us to work with partners who share our commitment to sustainability. That's why we are pleased with project44's latest development, which contributes to reducing emissions in the logistics sector worldwide."
Kevin Diestel, partner at Generation Investment Management, added: "Understanding our supply chain emissions is crucial for a sustainable future. One of the main reasons for our investment in project44, is their strong focus on accurately measuring and responsibly managing climate impact in the logistics sector. With its new Emissions Monitoring tool, project44 helps companies identify and address the main causes of theirCO2 emissions, regardless of the means of transport. This ensures more efficient operations and helps companies comply with increasingly stringent regulations."
