Suppliers of V&D who still have products in the bankrupt department store's shops must pay 200 euros per branch to get these items back. That reports RTL Z following a letter from the receivers to suppliers.
Suppliers can only get their items back if they apply for at least five branches. A minimum of 1,000 euros must therefore be paid to get the items back. Suppliers supplying all 62 branches would thus have to pay 12,000 euros excluding VAT to get all their goods back.
Suppliers not happy
The amount is not on good terms with some suppliers. One of the suppliers did not remove its items from the shops at the request of the trustees when the bankruptcy was announced. This was because empty shelves would scare customers away from the shops, making a restart more unlikely. That move will cost him dearly, now that a relaunch has not materialised after all.
'Cost not unreasonable'
Yet the costs V&D is asking for to take back the items would not be unreasonable. According to some trustees, there is a lot of searching and registration work involved. Security would also possibly be needed. These costs should be covered. Suppliers who want their stuff back could apply until early this week. Parties who are late cannot get their items back.
