After the COVID-19 outbreak in the Netherlands, e-commerce took off, but one in seven consumers never received their online order.
This is according to research by payment service provider ICS among a thousand consumers. Due to the explosive rush, some of the products ordered between 12 March and 31 May were not delivered. In half of these cases, the money has since been refunded. 12 per cent of the duped consumers do not expect to get their money back from the relevant online shop.
ICS figures show that consumers bought clothes in particular during the lockdown, followed by groceries and meals.
