The number of periodic safety inspections by BMWT-Keur was once again on the rise in 2017. Especially in the intralogistics world, work equipment was frequently inspected, according to the number of periodic safety inspections under BMWT-Keur.

Last year, the number of safety inspections increased by 9.5 per cent compared to 2016. In total, employers had 285,000 safety inspections carried out. Director Jan Hommes is not surprised by this growth. "The increase reflects that economic conditions have greatly improved. In addition, it reaffirms awareness of the importance of periodic safety inspections."

Over 90 per cent of inspections in 2017 were carried out in the intralogistics world: mobile internal transport, warehouse equipment and traction batteries. The remaining 10 per cent of inspections were done in the GWW sector and construction: earth-moving machinery, lifting equipment, hoisting machinery and civil and utility construction.
