Over a month after the launch of AH Compact, Albert Heijn is expanding its delivery service for small households to a new city. Residents of Nijmegen can now also order groceries via AH Compact.
Albert Heijn first tested the new delivery service in Haarlem at the end of September. Now it is rolling out the service to Nijmegen, Oosterhout and Lent.
The service targets small households: single households and households without children. They can choose from 5,000 products via the AH Compact app. The minimum order amount is 35 euros, a lot lower than Albert Heijn's regular delivery service. Customers also receive free home delivery of their groceries.
Albert Heijn is tapping into a fast-growing market with AH Compact. "In particular, families with children and businesses were frequently ordering online in recent years," CEO Marit van Egmond stated at the launch in late September. "However, we saw increasing interest among small households - young and old. For that, we have now developed AH Compact."
