Amazon will compete with carriers like UPS and FedEx. The online giant reportedly wants to set up its own delivery service.
So reports the Wall Street Journal based on sources around the company. The new service will be called Shipping With Amazon, or SWA. Companies will partner with SWA to deliver their parcels. Consumers will then get a delivery driver from Amazon at their door.
In the coming weeks, Amazon will test the transport service in Los Angeles at businesses that sell products on Amazon's marketplace. Still this year, SWA should be expanded to several cities across the United States. It is not yet known whether the service will also come to Europe.
