Amazon has received a patent for a flying warehouse. The drones Amazon is developing can pick up their packages in this zeppelin. This can be read on the website TechCrunch.
In its application, Amazon describes how it envisions the zeppelin. For instance, the flying warehouse could come in handy at a sports match or a concert. Visitors could order food or merchandise online, after which the drone would pick it up from the well-stocked zeppelin and bring the order to the spectator. Attendees thus do not have to queue for their food.
Amazon does often make high-profile patent applications. In 2015, the etailer applied for patents for flying drones and for 3D printing on board its own vans. The year before , the US web giant applied for - and received - a patent for photographing products against a white background. This method involves creating a snow-white background without digital tools. Despite the patent obtained, this is not an Amazon invention at all, but a commonly used technique among photographers.
