Logistics service provider Bleckmann has appointed Kurt Pierloot as its new ceo. The top executive comes from Belgium's bpost.

Kurt Pierloot was part of bpost's management board for more than a decade. There, he served as second-in-command behind ceo Koen van Gerven. Pierloot retired from the Belgian postal and parcel company in January.

The top executive was planning a six-month sabbatical, but has now decided against it; Pierloot will start immediately as CEO at logistics service provider Bleckmann. There, he succeeds Johan Milliau, who remains involved in Bleckmann as a shareholder and board member.

Bleckmann provides warehousing and transport for customers in fashion and lifestyle. The company operates in the Netherlands, Belgium, the United States and Asia and has an annual turnover of EUR 300 million. "Bleckmann has grown impressively in recent years and I look forward to further developing Bleckmann together with its customers, employees and business partners," Pierloot said.
