Bol.com will deliver orders placed on weekdays before 12 noon on the same day. The retailer also delivers on Sundays.
It concerns 300 thousand items from all product categories. According to bol.com, it was never before possible to deliver such a large number of items so quickly and cheaply throughout the country. The retailer calls this a "world first" in the field of same-day deilvery. In a few years, bol.com aims to deliver 1 million items on the day of ordering. "The size of this range is comparable to the range of a shopping city. We are making every effort to be able to offer the delivery option to one million items within a few years. Our new fulfilment centre that is currently being built is going to make a big contribution to this," Daniel Ropers said. Bol.com is currently exploring the possibility of starting same-day delivery in Belgium as well.
The online shopping giant has also started Sunday delivery. "Where you used to have to leave your house at the weekend to make a purchase, you can now stay at home and have the package delivered."
