Bol.com may acquire Cycloon, parent company of Fietskoeriers.nl. The Consumer & Market Authority (ACM) has given the companies permission for the takeover announced late last year.
Bol.com will initially acquire a majority stake in Cycloon. In four years, the remaining shares will be acquired. Bol.com and its sales partners will be able to deliver a larger proportion of parcels by bicycle thanks to the majority stake. By not depending solely on external delivery services, the retail platform wants to offer customers an even better service in delivery.
Cycloon will continue to operate as an independent brand and will continue postal and parcel delivery for existing and new customers as usual. In addition, it will of course deliver parcels for bol.com. These include parcels from the web giant itself as well as from sales partners who store their items in bol.com distribution centres.
