Coolblue, KLM and Flexport are working together on the sale and distribution of mouthguards. The three parties have set up a complete supply chain within weeks to deliver mouthguards from China to healthcare workers.
Through the new platform aids.nu, healthcare workers who are on the AGB register can order mouthguards that meet RIVM requirements. The order, often consisting of thousands of mouthguards, is on site within two working days, according to the initiators.
A complete supply chain was set up within weeks for aids.nu, with Flexport collecting goods in China and preparing them for flight. The company also takes care of customs clearance and transport to Coolblue at Schiphol, with KLM flying back and forth to Shanghai several times a week in cooperation with the government. Coolblue makes its warehouses and checkout available. The e-tailer also provides delivery in the Netherlands.
About half a million mouth caps are brought to the Netherlands every week through the initiative. Hulptroepen.nu and its affiliates operate on a non-profit basis.
