Coolblue will also deliver white goods itself in Flanders. The CoolblueBezorgt service was launched over a year ago in the Netherlands and is now expanding to Belgium.
By delivering white goods itself, Coolblue says it wants to get a better grip on the last mile of its large parcels: "We are happy that from now on we also know who is coming to your home. We can now confidently let our delivery people drop by your grandma's house," Coolblue director Pieter Zwart said earlier about CoolblueBezorgt. Consumers using the will be told a day before delivery in which 60-minute period the products will be delivered. The deliverers install the products and give usage advice.
The vans run in Coolblue's house style, which will do the retailer's name recognition well. In the Netherlands, there are currently 100 blue-orange vans from Coolblue. In Flanders, the retailer will start with thirty vans. These can deliver up to seventy per cent of white goods orders.
For the service, Coolblue has hired 50 delivery people. The company expects to recruit more delivery staff by the end of this year. Besides white goods, they also deliver large TVs and built-in appliances.
