Bol.com has won prizes at the BREEAM Awards with its new distribution centre in Waalwijk. In London, the online shop took the prize for the most sustainable and innovative distribution centre.
Remarkably, the award was given while the building is still under construction. The new distribution centre is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
In the Industrial Buildings category, Bol.com walked away with the prize. The jury praised the building for its scalability, the way CO2 emissions are regulated by means of five wind turbines and the focus on a healthy working environment for employees.
