Package deliverer DPD is going to deliver parcels and letters through the letterbox with a new service. As a result, consumers no longer have to stay at home waiting for their parcels.
With the service, called ParcelLetter, DPD focuses on the small business market and consumers. DPD usually requires a signature as proof of delivery, but that is not a requirement with ParcelLetter. The parcel can be tracked via track&trace.
"With our new service ParcelLetter, we want to further expand our services," says Eric Dietz, ceo DPD Netherlands. "Due to the enormous e-commerce growth, our customers need a service where small parcels can be delivered to the recipient through the letterbox at low cost. With ParcelLetter, we are responding to this need from the market."
ParcelLetter is currently offered as a pilot only in the Netherlands via the online shipping platform pakkettenversturen.nl. In the near future, DPD will also offer the service for shipments to other European countries.
