Trade shows Logistica Next and ICT&Logistics at Royal Jaarbeurs from 5 to 7 November 2024

Utrecht, 5 November - The trade jury of the Logistica Award 2024 today announced the winner of the prestigious Logistica Award during the Logistica Next trade fair in Royal Jaarbeurs. Essensium wins the Logistica Award with its unique SafeTrack system, a brand-independent safety system for warehouse trucks. This award is presented biannually to companies that excel in innovation within the logistics sector. The other two nominees were Prime Vision and STILL Intern Transport.

The jury: 'An important innovation with a lot of potential'

The SafeTrack system uses a Real Time Location System (RTLS), Vision and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to monitor the exact position of trucks, loads and pedestrians. The jury considers this an important innovation that is entering the Dutch market with great potential. The first implementation recently went live and promises to add a lot of value for both the industry and the user. The system is brand-independent and uses a proprietary communication network. Pedestrians and static objects can be detected with a high degree of accuracy. SafeTrack automatically intervenes when unsafe situations threaten to occur: the truck slows down to the desired level. This minimises unnecessary intervention. All this requires no adjustments to infrastructure or the use of tags, which significantly improves both safety and productivity in warehouses or production environments, for example. Conversely, productivity can be increased by allowing trucks to drive faster in safe situations.
