Drugstore chain Etos will start selling via bol.com from next year and is considering outsourcing fulfilment to the online platform as well.
Etos since early this year online via its own website and will do so via bol.com next year, Etos CEO Saskia Egas Reparaz told BNR. "Bol.com is just a new shopping street. We will have to be there too."
Etos and bol.com are both part of Ahold Delhaize, which makes cooperation easier. In the coming months, the parties want to flesh out that collaboration further. "We have to look at what assortment we put there and how we set up the supply chain. Do we do that ourselves or do we do that through Bol?"
Despite the online expansion, no physical shops will close, according to Egas Reparaz. The chain now has 546 stores in the Netherlands. A number of stores were closed in recent times, but new branches were opened in return. "The point is that we always stay close. I believe in human contact and the helping hand of the shop employee."
