HEMA's future plans no longer include logistics director Adrian Porteous. Three other board members must also step down under the retail chain's new owner.
HEMA was acquired at the end of October by Ramphastos Investments, the investment company of entrepreneur Marcel Boekhoorn. The new owner has decided to send half the board home; there is no more room at HEMA for four of the eight current board members.
Adrian Porteous, director of logistics and supply chain at HEMA since 2017, is stepping down. The Brit had previously indicated he would commit to HEMA for one contact period. Marketing director Adriana Hoppebrouwer, HEMA Netherlands director Tico Schneider and human resources director Marielle de Macker are also leaving the board.
With this adjustment, Boekhoorn hopes to simplify the structure and operate more decisively. From mid-2019, the retail chain's management board will be formed by top executive Tjeerd Jegen, finance director Ivo Vliegen, international director Richard Flint and purchasing director Trevor Perren.
