IKEA is offering click & collect in all thirteen shops. The 'Order and collect' service allows consumers to place their order online and often collect it on the same day from a store of their choice.

In recent months, IKEA has been testing the new service among thousands of customers. In a press release, the housing giant reveals that 88 per cent of users were satisfied with the new logistics option. "Customers appreciate the fact that they can save time collecting products in the shop. They also find the fact that they can be assured that the products they ordered are in stock a great advantage," IKEA said.

IKEA will prepare the orders at specially equipped pick-up points. The pick-up points are located at customer service or the transport department. For the new service, IKEA charges a flat fee of 15 euros per order. "This service is a great example of how e-commerce can go hand in hand with a visit to our shops," said Marketing Manager Jeroen Hubert of IKEA Netherlands. "We think it is important to be able to serve our customers via any channel and at times that suit them."

Customers could previously choose to have their orders delivered to their home and possibly assembled.
