Instabox, formerly Red je Pakketje, will deliver parcels for De Bijenkorf. The department store says it wants to offer customers fossil-free and fast parcel delivery.

"We strive for a world where everyone makes conscious choices and quality wins over quantity. Fossil-free parcel delivery is therefore a logical addition to our delivery methods," says Christiaan Mourik, Director Omnichannel at de Bijenkorf. Instabox has been delivering fossil-free since November and aims to deliver completely CO2-free by the end of next year, in automated parcel lockers or at people's homes.

Instabox, a Swedish logistics startup, took over Red je Pakketje in May 2021. The company delivers for parties such as H&M, Ikea, bol.com and Amazon. Instabox is betting heavily on parcel lockers, a delivery option still in its infancy in the Netherlands. In the coming period, it plans to place thousands of parcel lockers in the Netherlands. Meanwhile, the Swedish delivery company is significantly scaling up its logistics capacity: last year it doubled the number of distribution centres in the Netherlands.
