Marc van het Bolscher may call himself ambassador of logistics for a year. The Global supply chain manager at Tanatex Chemicals goes home with the title Logistics Manager of the Year. He narrowly won from finalists Mark Bär and Arie van der Tempel.

At Tanatex Chemicals, Van het Bolscher introduced Lean six sigma and S&OP, among other things. Marc arrived at a company that was not doing well. He brought structure to this organisation," explains jury chairman René de Koster. "He looked around and then developed vision. He brought all the different departments together. An incredibly complicated process in a company where sales was basically in charge. The results have been incredibly good." According to De Koster, Van het Bolscher is far from finished with his work. "Marc has developed a vision for Tanatex to become a global player."

"I am incredibly proud," Van het Bolscher responds. "I first hesitated to participate, but this is fantastic recognition for my work."

The award was presented by former winner Iwan te Winkel. He scored high last year with Raab Karcher's Leanworks concept. This logistics concept took a different approach to the distribution of materials to the building site. Because the materials are brought to the craftsman's workplace, much less storage would be required.

Jan Minnee, founder of Retourplaza, won in the Young Logistics Talent category.
