Mark Huisman Logistics is moving into a new warehouse in Nijmegen. The logistics service provider is also digitising all its processes.
Mark Huisman Logistics, active in transport and storage and transhipment, wants to continue its growing trend with a new distribution centre in Nijmegen. By also digitising its processes - from transport to warehousing - founder Mark Huisman hopes to save costs on the one hand and gain more insight into its operations on the other.
To achieve this, Mark Huisman Logistics is working with Boltrics' software. The software supplier from Edes has already implemented the WMS module of their solution 3PL Dynamics at Mark Huisman, with the TMS and Finance modules to follow in the coming period.
Digitisation required
Mark Huisman focuses particularly on the transport of (partial) loads to and from Spain and Portugal. By bundling partial loads, favourable conditions apply, including for rush orders. "In order to continue offering these rates, a digitisation drive was required," Huisman states in a press release, achieved in particular through the use of RF scanners. Inbound or outbound goods are registered directly in the system after a scanning action. This reduces manual notes and duplicate registrations.
Consulting from other locations
Digitalisation also increases insight into its operations. The WMS, based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, can be consulted via a web browser. This makes it possible to view the stock status outside the office, e.g. in Spain or Portugal, to inform customers.
