Montapacking posted a turnover of 50 million euros in 2018. The fulfilment company expands its customer base by two web shops every week.

So says managing director Edwin van der Ham in an interview with Quote. Montapacking, which was founded in 1996, currently provides fulfilment for about five hundred web shops.

Acquisition De Brink

The company has had an eventful year. In June, it acquired industry peer De Brink. from bankrupt Wial. In the fulfilment sector, only a few big players will remain. We are one of them now and we want to remain one of them," Van der Ham said of the move.

Fire warehouse Molenaarsgraaf

In September, a fire destroyed Montapacking's warehouse in Molenaarsgraaf. The stock of several webshops went up in smoke. The advantage was that Montapacking's nine other branches were able to take over order processing. At the time, Van der Ham called this 'the power of decentralisation'.

Record Black Friday

Much of Montapacking's sales increase was recorded on Black Friday. As early as 2.30pm, the company reached a record in order fulfilment. The fulfilment player had to deploy all its 446 employees to make parcels ready for shipment. "Our team literally worked day and night to get all the parcels out the door on time. The fact that even the partners of some of our colleagues came to help is truly unique. Wonderful to experience that team spirit."
