Montapacking wants to continue growing Just before the end of 2021, the fulfilment specialist has acquired two competitors from Nieuwveen: WSSN and TWI. Both companies provide logistics for around 100 web shops.

Be able to scale up

Montapacking, which handles logistics for over 1,500 online shops, foresees a consalidation trend in the fulfilment industry and is anticipating this with this acquisition. "It is expected that only a few big players will remain in the fulfilment sector," says Edwin van der Ham, Montapacking's managing director. "This is due to the enormous growth in the online market in recent years. As a result, as a fulfilment company, your IT systems need to be set up in such a way that you can not only switch quickly, but also scale up effectively. We are prepared for that challenge."

Company culture

WSSN and TWI employ around 65 people. Eelko Hoekstra, branch manager WSSN/TWI: "These core values and the general culture within Montapacking completely match ours. This has had a great impact on our decision, as a large proportion of our people have been working here for decades."

Montapacking is organised in a decentralised way. According to the company, this creates a relative small scale, keeping the lines of communication with customers short. This way of working will also be used at the new site in Nieuwveen.
