Customers who order white goods from webshop Coolblue no longer have to stay at home unnecessarily long. They now choose their own delivery time.
Coolblue thus follows other online shops, where it is possible to choose a time slot. Customers choose a part of the day that is convenient for them: morning, afternoon or evening. That way, they do not have to stay at home all day.
The evening before, customers are told in which hour their order will be delivered. On the day itself, customers receive a text message with the delivery time and are called half an hour before delivery. That way, they know exactly when the delivery driver will arrive.
For white goods, Coolblue offers the special service that the deliverers install the new appliances, test whether they work and take the old appliances with them. 'If you want to order a washing machine, your old one has often just broken down,' explains founder Pieter Zwart.
In 2018, the company achieved a turnover of 1.35 billion euros, making it one of the largest e-commerce companies in the Netherlands and Belgium. The service of choosing your own time slot is currently only available in the Netherlands, from mid-April the option will also exist for Belgian customers.
