Swedish company Budbee has been delivering fossil-free in thirty Dutch cities since this month. Budbee, which collaborates with Zalando, Asos, H&M and Fonq, deploys electric vehicles, among others. In this way, it hopes to reduce CO2 emissions by 90 per cent.
Budbee works in the cities in question with a combination of cargo bikes, electric vehicles, green gas buses and vehicles filled with recycled and vegetable oil. In other areas of the Netherlands, Budbee says it is CO2 neutral through the offsetting projects it facilitates. Budbee's aim is to deliver completely fossil-free in all countries where it operates by early 2022. Besides Sweden and the Netherlands, these include Denmark and Finland.

Budbee was founded in 2016 and made its appearance in the Netherlands in 2019. Earlier this year, it raised EUR 52 million in an investment round. The fast-growing player from Sweden calls itself a logtech company. Budbee works with technology that allows customers to see which vehicle will bring their parcel and allows them to adjust the delivery time up to 1pm. As a result, 97 per cent of first delivery attempts succeed, the company claims. Artificial intelligence calculates the optimal route, allowing Budbee to keep CO2 emissions as low as possible.
