Picnic is rolling out its delivery area to Purmerend, Edam, Volendam and Monnickendam. There, the app-only supermarket will hit the road with eight delivery vans and 25 delivery staff.
Picnic has access to around 55,000 households in the new delivery area. The North Holland region is attractive to the web supermarket because of its many households with children. The Dutch average is 33 per cent, while in the four areas around 40 per cent of households have children.
From mid-August, customers can expect a Picnic delivery van at their door. Groceries will be delivered from a hub in Purmerend.
