Picnic will soon be driving around all provinces in the Netherlands. In a few weeks, the app only supermarket will start delivery in Zeeland, the last province where Picnic was not yet active.

The online mass retailer will start delivering from a hub in Middelburg, the company informs the Provinciale Zeeuwse Courant. Ten trolleys and 20 delivery staff will initially be deployed here.

The company says it has already received thousands of applications from Zeelanders, who are keen to have their groceries delivered to their homes. Picnic will start delivery on Walcheren, in the towns of Middelburg, Vlissingen, Oost-Souburg, Ritthem, Koudekerke, Nieuw en Sint Joosland and Sint Laurens.

The supermarket doubts it will deliver everywhere in Zeeland. "In certain outlying areas we won't come," Picnic spokesman Romke Spierdijk told PZC. "The principle behind Picnic is that we deliver groceries for free and that is not profitable everywhere. Moreover, our trolleys only have a limited radius of action."
