Red je Pakketje has run a pilot for parcel delivery with electric bikes in inner cities. The startup wants to offer same day delivery eventually fully sustainable.
Red je Pakketje deployed the electric cargo bike in Amsterdam's city centre. The company speaks of a successful pilot. For instance, the stop density was higher on average than for delivery by van. The route was also covered faster.
Red je Pakketje, which focuses on same-day delivery, wants to eventually offer fully sustainable delivery. "Between cities and villages, we want to drive with electric buses. We will use the electric cargo bike for delivery in the busier city centres. With this pilot we are taking an important step in our transition from CO2 compensation to CO2 reduction," said Tijs van Driel, coo at Red je Pakketje.
