The software company Picqer has devised a solution for online retailers who, out of necessity, store their stock across multiple warehouses.

E-commerce is experiencing massive growth, and online retailers cannot always keep up with this growth. They therefore temporarily store their stock in multiple warehouses. This isn’t a problem in itself, but fulfilling orders from multiple warehouses is very time-consuming. Picqer has therefore developed AutoSplit, which automatically calculates which warehouses should be used to fulfil an order.

AutoSplit immediately calculates for each order from which warehouses it can be delivered most efficiently. If one of the warehouses has everything in stock, everything is automatically delivered from that warehouse. If not, each warehouse then receives its own orders for delivery.
