On 7 and 8 November 2018, supply chain executives can get their fill at ICT & Logistiek. A strong substantive programme will take place at the Supply Chain Arena© within this exhibition, aimed especially at directors and managers in supply chain management. The arena is an initiative of BLMC Supply Chain Optimisation, Solventure S&OP Planning Software and Supply Chain Media.

The Supply Chain Arena grew out of previous initiatives within and outside this trade fair. Michel van Buren, director of BLMC Supply Chain Optimisation: 'The cooperation at this event offers a unique opportunity to bring together the different aspects of the field. Supply Chain Media knows the market and can interpret developments, BLMC Supply Chain Optimization brings supply chain expertise and practical knowledge, and Solventure can tell all about S&OP, a key component of supply chain management.'

Emerging from need

The image of supply chain management is undergoing a transformation: it is increasingly clear that it is a management methodology that has a positive effect on the total organisation and on the entire chain. Michel van Buren continues: 'The technical aspects of supply chain management are only part of the story. In the programme, we also pay a lot of attention to the communication and psychology around it: how do you get commitment from the boardroom and how do you involve other departments? Only then can you harness the full potential of supply chain management.'

Science and practice

Highly knowledgeable speakers have been recruited for the programme. Prof Dr Jack van der Veen is a professor at Nyenrode Business University and holder of the evofenedex chair in Supply Chain Management. Prof Bram Desmet is CEO and founder of Solventure Strategy-Driven S&OP, professor of operations & supply chain at Vlerick Business School, and author of 'The Supply Chain Triangle'. There will also be workshops by various supply chain specialists, covering topics from strategy to implementation. As an extra service, there is the possibility of speed consultations with the speakers, to discuss your own issue.

More information about the Supply Chain Arena and the programme can be found on the ICT & Logistiek website.
