Same day delivery service Trunkrs has received an investment sum of 3.5 million euros. Trunkrs is using the money to make its delivery process more sustainable.

The million-euro sum comes from existing shareholders and the Amsterdam Climate & Energy Fund (AKEF). Trunkrs, which offers same-day delivery to online shops, uses it to invest in the electrification of its distribution and distribution centres. The company is also adapting its logistics process and routes to the range of electric delivery vehicles.

The AKEF supports the company mainly through Trunkrs' promise to make all deliveries in Amsterdam electric. By the first half of 2020, the region should be fully connected to the electric network.

New location in Nieuwegein

Trunkrs recently moved to a new location in Nieuwegein. There, the same-day delivery service uses the distribution centre of nox NightTime Express Netherlands, a location that was already set up for fast parcel processing. There, the same-day delivery service says it has 300 per cent more processing capacity.
