No gold this year at the Safest Warehouse Award ceremony. The jury gave this year's contenders Timberland Europe and DSM Protective Materials a bronze award, while Bressers Metaal was presented with the incentive prize.

By corona The Safest Warehouse election took place again for the first time in two years, with Timberland Europe and Bressers Metaal nominated in the 'large warehouses' category. The jury, chaired by Professor René de Koster (professor of logistics and operations management at Erasmus University Rotterdam), said it would have a tough time assessing the three nominees again this year.

Timberland

The jury praised Timberland for the good working atmosphere within the company and the fact that employees pay attention to each other. Employees at Timberland get a lot of room for personal development. In terms of safety, however, there is still room for improvement. One area for improvement is the registration of (near) accidents and their follow-up. The shoe brand therefore received the bronze award from the jury.

DSM

At DSM, compliance plays a major role, which has to do with compliance with laws and regulations related to the hazardous substances in storage. The jury praised the team spirit and that safety was part of the process. Points of attention at DSM were the traffic plan and the intrinsic motivation regarding safety among staff.

Bressers Metaal

Bressers Metaal is an example for its peers, according to the jury. Here, too, the necessary points of attentionm such as the recording of (near) accidents and also their follow-up. The Risk Inventory and Evaluation (RI&E) and the traffic plan also need attention. According to the jury, however, Bressers is on the right track.
