Retail entrepreneurs Roland Kahn, Jaco Scheffers and Ronald van Zetten are to continue V&D online. This was agreed by the receivers of bankrupt V&D with the entrepreneurs today.
Kahn, Scheffers and Van Zetten will buy the brand rights, domain names and other intellectual property rights of V&D. The physical shops are not part of the deal. According to the trustees, this 'ensures the continued existence of one of the Netherlands' best-known consumer brands'. It is unclear how much was paid for the acquisition.
The new owners initially only want to sell V&D's brands online. However, they do not rule out opening physical shops in the future.
The trio will operate under the name Retail Ventures. Ronald van Zetten, formerly employed by Hema, will take charge. His colleague Roland Kahn tried to restart V&D at the beginning of this year. However, the CoolCat owner could not get the financing, so the plans ran aground.
