Zalando introduces a membership programme in France. Members of Zalando Plus get orders delivered to their homes within one to two days free of charge. Customers who participate pay 10 euros per year for now.
In Germany, Zalando has been working with this membership service since 2017. There, customers pay a flat fee of 15 euros per year. Now expansion to France will follow, initially in the Paris area. Later, expansion to the rest of the country may follow. "As one of the largest fashion markets in Europe, France is important for Zalando's ambition to become the 'starting point of fashion'," said Riccardo Vola, director Southern Europe at Zalando.
With Zalando Plus, customers benefit from free shipping and other services, such as personalised treatment when they contact customer service. Previously, Zalando also collected returns for free from Plus members. The e-commerce giant discontinued that service in 2019 after it was found that collecting returns was not always flawless.
