DACHSER currently employs more than 30,000 people. A record for the family-owned company, which attributes its success to the booming labour market. The logistics service provider is focusing on training young staff in the coming period.

At the end of 2017, DACHSER still had 29,098 employees. After six months, that number has increased by about 5 per cent. "The workforce is and remains our greatest strength," says ceo Bernhard Simon in a press release. "Our employees pave the way for a global transport network, organise storage and delivery processes everywhere and are our calling card to customers."

Germany, where DACHSER is headquartered, employs 16,246 people. The company also says it has achieved a new record with its apprenticeship and training opportunities. This year, 732 young people in Germany chose an apprenticeship or traineeship with the logistics service provider. In the Netherlands, 50 people are currently being trained in various logistics positions.

Popular at the moment are training courses for shipping and logistics specialist, warehouse worker and truck driver. "In our industry, qualified staff is the crucial factor for growth. To continue our growth, we need well-trained and motivated employees," states Vera Weidemann, Manager Corporate Human Resources at DACHSER.
