Amazon often thinks big, even when it's not about drones, same-day-delivery or Black Friday. Indeed, it can't be big enough in the area of packaging either, according to the etail giant. Whether it's socks, batteries or shoe spoons: it takes a big box. We collected 11 examples where Amazon could have packed a little smaller.
1. 'Better safe than sorry', Amazon must have thought. The chain once again packed a box in an extra-large box filled with air.
2. You can't be too careful with socks.
3. Amazon packed this picture frame in two boxes just to be on the safe side.
4. Even printer ink can't be packed big enough.
5. The same goes, of course, for webcams that are already boxed.
6. Batteries are apparently too big for an envelope at Amazon.
7. Good look for the ruler!
8. Amazon is not the worst with wrapping paper either.
9. Of course, it's best to pack a bottle in two boxes.
10. iPhone protective cases need proper protection.
11. Same goes for SD cards, of course.
The amazing thing is that these are just a small sample of the photos shared on social media about Amazon's excessive packaging. The etailer could save itself quite a few miles (and costs) if it packed more modestly.
