Foreign investment has created over 2,000 extra jobs in distribution centres in the past year. This is according to figures from the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA), which is jointly responsible for bringing in the jobs and investments.

NFIA's figures show that 350 foreign investors provided a total of 11,398 extra jobs in the Netherlands. They invested 1.74 billion euros in the economy. Most of the new jobs were created in distribution centres (2,092), manufacturing (1,475), head offices (1,218) and service centres (1,097). "These fine figures reaffirm that the Netherlands is an attractive country for foreign companies," said Economic Affairs Minister Kamp. "Our population is highly educated, we have excellent logistics and infrastructure, and our digital facilities are among the world's best. So we have a lot to offer international business. This is also reflected in the more than 900,000 jobs in our country that come from foreign companies." The minister continued: "Foreign investments are and will remain important for our country. They further grow the Dutch economy and help many thousands of people find work every year. To remain attractive, it is important to keep our economy open and our business climate competitive."

Most jobs were created by companies from the United States, followed by China, Britain, China, Japan and France.
