Albert Heijn will soon move into an e-fulfillment centre in Eindhoven. At the Home Shop Center (HSC), Albert Heijn plans to prepare 40,000 orders every week, then deliver them to customers in the south of the country.

From the logistics centre, groceries ordered online will also be prepared at the Pick Up Points in Brabant, Limburg and Gelderland. This will be Albert Heijn's fourth HSC, covering 18,000 square metres and eventually accommodating 800 employees.

Albert Heijn already has HSCs in Rotterdam, Almere and De Meern, and with an additional HSC specifically for the south of the Netherlands, Albert Heijn expects to reduce the number of transport kilometres. Logistics hubs in Brabant, Limburg and the southern part of Gelderland should further reduce the number of kilometres. Groceries ordered online will be delivered here by large trucks, after which smaller delivery trucks or bicycles will drive into town. Customers in Eindhoven will be served directly from the new HSC. Albert Heijn currently has 21 hubs.

Construction of the HSC is currently in full swing. Albert Heijn is expected to be operational there from autumn.
