Albert Heijn is starting order picking in its own shop. Groceries ordered online are collected in the shop and can also be picked up there by the customer. This is a three-month pilot being carried out at a franchisee in Maasland, Distrifood reports.

The pilot started on Wednesday. Customers can choose on AH.nl which shop they want to collect their shopping from. This is now only possible at one store. The order can be picked up the next day after 4 pm at the service counter of the shop. There is no minimum amount of groceries for the new service. However, customers do pay a 1 to 3.50 euro service charge. Only at 70 euros of groceries, no delivery costs are charged.
