Online department store Amazon has placed parcel vending machines at branches of discounter Aldi in Germany. This writes the Lebensmittelzeitung.

Aldi and Amazon are testing the collection machines at four branches in the Augsburg area. These shops are close to an Amazon distribution centre. A pilot in Munich may also follow. It is unknown how many vaults will eventually be installed. Amazon is not only working with Aldi in Germany. In Berlin, it is testing takeaway machines at supermarket chain Edeka. Eight parcel safes have also been placed at branches of Shell.

AmazonFresh
Amazon launched shopping service Amazon Fresh in Germany last week. The service is only available in Berlin for now, but will be rolled out to the rest of Germany in the coming period. For grocery delivery, Amazon is working with DHL.
