Amazon has lowered the rates of fulfilment service Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA). The US online player wants to entice more manufacturers and online retailers to store their goods at Amazon.
This is what Emerce concludes based on the rates published by Amazon earlier this week. Lower rates will apply to shipments from the UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy from 1 August 2019.
This rate reduction mainly applies to items stored at Amazon for more than a year. The rate for storage for less than 181 days will not change.
Sellers who want to store their items for more than 181 days will pay no extra fees for this up to 365 days. Currently, they still pay 500 euros per cubic metre per month for this. If they want to store their goods beyond a period of 365 days, they will pay 170 euros per cubic metre per month for that. Previously, that rate was 1,000 euros. For non-standard-sized products, parties will pay a third less.
