The new app 'Legal Control' aims to prevent high fines by alerting truck drivers to transport checks. Developed by Transport In Nood, the app works with notifications submitted by the drivers themselves. Truck drivers who observe a check can share their location via GPS. The app then immediately displays that location as a checkpoint.
Transport inspection
Drivers using the app will see all checks within a 250-kilometre radius of their location when they turn it on. These are only checks by transport inspectorates such as the Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT), for example. The app takes no action if the driver is not actively using it. In this way, Transport In Noord wants to prevent the app from causing distractions while driving.
Without distance restriction
The app is free to download, but there is also a paid version on the market. This version is more comprehensive and shows all checks without distance restrictions.
